A unique guided tour through the Battle of the Boyne site on the Boyne canal navigation. Two to eight people work together to power the currach along Ireland’s Ancient East’s most famous waterway. Perfect for families who want to connect with the outdoors and expend some youthful energy! Suitable for ages 3-73 and beyond. The Boyne canal is perfect for those who want to try a little paddling and connect to nature and history in a safe and easy setting and discover a small part of the Boyne valley. The construction of the currach allows the paddler to glide effortlessly over lilies and under hanging trees. Option 1: Paddle like an Iron Islander – 1 hour duration – 2km journey Option 2: The King’s Tour – 1.5hrs duration – 3km journey Hear about the battle that shaped Ireland’s history over 325 years ago, dream that your ancestors may have travelled by currach with the building blocks of Newgrange, question your guide on the fantasy of working on TV and movie sets and all whilst getting some well-earned fresh air and a little exercise.
