Gallivanting Tours is the only culture and culinary day tour provider in the South East of Ireland, served with a generous helping of traditional Irish storytelling from your guide and “Seanacai” Lorraine Ni Dubhuir. The fully customisable day tours are designed for couples or small groups of friends and family who want to see a little of the countryside and delve a little deeper into the history and heritage of the place. This would be done through great stories, local food and drink and meeting some of the locals and discovering some of the customs unique to the area. There are five themed “Story Tours” that cover tales such as the stormin normans, whiskeys and shillelaghs, and hook and snare, a journey through Wexford in the 1700s, a wild place, home to highwaymen, rebels and redcoats and of course pirates. Will you be the one to find the six million pirate treasure still buried under the golden sands of Dollar Bay. Wexford is also the pantry of Ireland, with an abundance of artisan food producers. With Gallivanting Tours, dedicated food lovers have a choice of three food tours. Visit family owned farms, one of the last remaining watermills in Ireland, taste smoked salmon straight from the smokehouse and stain your lips and fingers as you pick strawberries at Wexford's oldest berry farm. You'll meet the makers, farmers, and fishermen that feed Ireland. Gallivanting Tours are small, personalised, intimate and fun tours for grownups, that are looking to really get to know the place they are visiting. All the tours last a full day, offer a door to door service and include everything, from entrance fees to a mini taste Wexford hamper bursting with tasty treats from the region. Every tour finishes with a generous Irish whiskey toast.
