Visit the actual pottery where the distinctive Nicholas Mosse range - one of Ireland's best known craft items - is created by hand. Set in a former flour mill in the picturesque village of Bennetsbridge, just off the N9 approx. 8Km from Kilkenny city
Nicholas Mosse has been a potter since he was seven and a visit to his riverside shop in Bennettsbridge, County Kilkenny will explain why. Nick's earthenware is made from Irish clay, fired with home grown Irish water-power and decorated with traditional motifs inspired by old Irish sponge-ware. Its universal charm and appeal have made it loved and sought after throughout the world. Visitors can browse among a huge selection of Nicholas Mosse pottery, linen and glass, over 3 floors of the store.
Mill Café: Finally, end your visit in our café which is housed upstairs in the attractive mill which is the home of Nicholas Mosse Pottery. It provides splendid views of the River Nore and the magnificent multi-arched bridge from which the town gets its name. Lunch is served daily.
