The HomeBirds Music Festival is a brand new festival that will take place in the seaside town of Youghal in East Cork this May.
Over 40 musical acts will be performing in 15 venues around the town across the weekend in total, with the programme encompassing a wide variety of musical genres from traditional Irish music sessions to the rock, and even a bit of choral music.
In what will be a celebration of local musical talent, the event will showcase not only East Cork’s and West Waterford’s fantastic musical traditions, as well as the beautiful town of Youghal itself, from its Blue Flag beaches to its historical buildings.
While bars all around Youghal will host gigs as a part of the festival's music trail, St Mary’s Collegiate Church will be perhaps the most spectacular venue, and will play host to a unique concert each evening featuring the likes of The Bravehearts Choir, Roy Buckley, and Caroline Fraher.
All in all, it’s an excellent way to kick off the summer.
