The programme is fixed, the artists engaged, and the brochures have been printed. The New Ross Piano Festival is ready to take over for five days from September 20th. This year brings a distinctly Hungarian flavour to proceedings as Hungary’s Zoltan Fejérvári makes his Irish debut and award-winning Klára Würst also takes centre stage at the festival. With Hungarian musicologist Endre Toth also present to enlighten you on the famed Hungarian school of playing, you’ll be an expert in the field following the New Ross Piano Festival 2017. Other highlights include performances from David Greilsammer who is known for his imaginative linking of old and new and Russia’s Elizaveta Ukrainskaia makes her Irish debut following her first prize win at the Bremen Piano Competition. This year sees the introduction of Jazz Piano Day to start the festival which features one of Europe’s most entertaining and well-known pianists - Italy’s Enrico Pieranunzi.
